Sic Bo Rules: The Board
The Sic Bo board may look complicated if you’re a beginner player, but it isn’t so. The rules are quite simple to understand. The dealer will throw three dice in a box called a cage. As a player, you will have to bet on the numbers that will appear on the dice after the dealer has shaken the cage.
For example, you could bet on a specific number appearing on all three dice or a combination of numbers appearing. If you are familiar with other casino games, you will know that all the bets won’t have the same payouts.
Bets in Sic Bo Casino Game Rules
Total
The total bet is the most straightforward wager to place in Sic Bo because you are simply betting on total of the three numbers appearing on the dice. The total may range from 4 – 17. The other numbers like 3 and 18 are covered by the Triple 1 and 6 bets.
The payout of each number is based on the odds of each number appearing on the dice. For example, if you bet on a 4, the payout will be 60:1. However, if you bet on a total of 10 or 11, then the payout will be 6:1.
Small and Big Bets
The small and big bets entail you betting on whether the total of the three bets will be small (4 – 10) or Big (11 – 17). The small and big bets in Sic Bo are even chance bets, so the payout is 1:1. But one thing you need to keep in mind is that the small and Big bet will lose if the triple bet appears. That’s part of the reason why the 3 and 18 are not included in the total bet.
If you are familiar with roulette rules, then the triple rule works similarly to the zero in roulette. It makes the even bet slightly less than even, especially when the house edge is included.
Combination Bets
The combination is a bet that consists of two specific numbers appearing on the three dice. For instance, you could bet on a combination of 4 to 6, which means it would win if the result is 3, 4, and 6. This combination bet pays out 6:1 no matter which combination of numbers you bet wager.
The combination bet is different from the totals bet because it pays out differently based on the number you have wagered. You could consider the combination bet as a medium risk bet.
The Single Bet
When you place the single number bet, you are wagering on a specific number appearing on the three dice. The payout of this bet is dependent on how many times the number you have chosen appears on the dice.
If the numbers you have picked appears on one of the dice, then the payout will be 1:1. But if it turns up on two dice, then the payout will be 2:1. If the number you’ve picked turns up on three of the dice, then you will be paid out at 12:1.
Double bet
This bet entails you betting on a single number appearing two dice. For example, you could bet on the number 2 appearing on the dice. So, the result might be 2,5,2. You have the choice of betting on any double from 1 – 6, and you will be paid out 10:1.
The Triple Bet
When you place the triple bet, you are wagering on a specific number appearing on all three dice. The choice is yours on which number to bet on between 1 and 6. However, you can also bet on any triple number showing up.
The payout will be at 30:1. However, if you place the bet on a specific number, the payout will be 180:1. The triple bet pays out the most on the board. The mere fact that the payout of this bet is huge also means that the odds are relatively high (216:1).
